Courchevel 1850Chalet Hotel DahuHigh altitude, high style. This 3 Valleys resort has it all, with easy access to more than 600kms of perfect pistes for every level of skiing and great nightlife – all with a certain je ne sais quoi. Our chosen base is at the heart of the action, only metres from the lift station. Perfectly groomed, easy pistes run through the middle of the resort. From here, leisurely skiers can ski across to Courchevel 1650 in time for a leisurely lunch, while more adventurous snow bunnies can head for the Saulire cable car or the powder fields of Mont Vallon. If it’s snowing hard, there are sheltered runs in the forest above La Tania and Le Praz. And don’t forget the ‘end to end’ Maurenne Valley route, now achievable in a single day via the new lift system. Alternative fun includes ice-skating, bowling, snow-shoeing, tobogganing and parascending. As to Apres Ski, the host of bars and nightlife options range from popular, good value haunts to expensive clubs with real style. The after-dark atmosphere here is fantastic. The nicely designed, modern Chalethotel Dahu is surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants and is close to the lift station. The large, open-plan bar-lounge on the first floor has plenty of comfy sofas and is a popular meeting point. The bedrooms are a mix of ‘true’ singles, twins and doubles for sole use. Each is ensuite, has a TV and many have a balcony. Within the Chalet is a small health and beauty salon where you can get your aching limbs a massage, or enjoy a facial.
